Our Story

Ashe Counseling & Coaching, founded in 2018 by Mandisa Jones, LCSW, emerged in response to the growing need for quality mental health services in our community, with a particular focus on serving traditionally underserved populations. Mandisa Jones envisioned not only providing essential mental health support but also creating job opportunities for professionals in the field that align with their career goals.

Starting with just a few therapists, we rapidly expanded, boasting a team of over 20 therapists who offer a diverse range of counseling services to clients spanning various ages and backgrounds. Our dedication to diversity and inclusion has been a fundamental aspect of our mission, actively seeking therapists who reflect the communities we serve.

In addition to our counseling services, we established a robust internship program in collaboration with prestigious universities such as the University of Chicago and the University of Illinois at Chicago. This program has played a crucial role in providing aspiring therapists with valuable training and mentorship opportunities.

In 2021, we marked a significant milestone by acquiring a beautiful office suite located in the South Loop of Chicago, serving as our headquarters. Expanding our reach, we opened offices in Texas and Louisiana to better cater to clients in those regions.

Proudly Black-owned and women-led, Ashe Counseling & Coaching has grown to become one of the largest Black-owned group practices in Illinois. In 2022, we earned recognition as a behavioral health center for our unwavering commitment to delivering quality mental health services to diverse communities.

As of today, we continue our journey of growth and expansion, staying true to our core values of diversity, inclusion, and community. We remain dedicated to providing essential mental health services while actively contributing to the well-being of the communities we serve.
