About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Texas and Illinois. I have been described as compassionate, loyal, funny, and non-judgmental. My clients have described me as supportive, thoughtful, calm, genuine, and reliable. I believe therapy can be beneficial for anyone and that everyone is capable of healing and growth. My aim as a therapist is to build a collaborative, therapeutic relationship while working towards everyone’s unique goals. I believe that therapy is an ever-evolving, fluid process that can be messy and challenging at points. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and strive to create a safe and inclusive space for all. I have been working with people in acute crisis for the past ten+ years and specialize in working with those that have experienced violent crimes and sexual assault.
My goal is to provide a supportive and solid foundation to guide the person through this process. I utilize an evidence-based, eclectic approach that includes elements of Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
When I am not working you can find me trying out new recipes, playing Mario Kart with my partner, and hanging out with my pack of elderly rescue dogs.
Why did you decide to become a social worker ?
I wanted to be able to help individuals navigate the storms in their lives and find it empowering to do so.
What types of clients are you most excited to work with?
I enjoy working with clients who are ready to try something different, even if they aren't sure what that is yet.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
It is never too late to start therapy and make a positive change in your life.
