Carmen Holley, LCSW

(she/her/hers)

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist at Ashe Counseling & Coaching. I believe in the value and power of relationships in all aspects of the work that I do. My clients often describe me as authentic, a great listener and strong supporter. I enjoy providing a safe therapeutic environment where my clients can get what they need to work through life challenges and transitions.

My therapeutic approach includes methods that meet you where you are and help you navigate complex emotions and challenging experiences.  I know that each of my clients have different needs and expectations, so I work in collaboration with you to plan treatment goals and support you in meeting those goals.

I work with individuals, couples and groups struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, managing work-life balance, trauma exposure, intrusive thoughts, grief and loss, life transitions and difficult situations.  I use many treatment methodologies including mindfulness, person-centered therapy, psychoeducation, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, trauma-informed approaches and skill-building through Dialectical Behavior Therapy. My goal as your therapist will be to help you feel valued, heard and respected, while supporting you set and achieve your personal goals.

Now, a little more about me! I was born and bred in Chicago and have lived in the same south side community for many years.  I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana, and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Chicago. As a social worker and clinician, I have worked in a myriad of settings including child welfare, residential care, education and hospitals.

I truly believe in the value of self-care and wellness, so I prioritize making time for myself and I also enjoy time with family and friends.
