I am a bilingual (Spanish-English) Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois and a Registered Art Therapist. I have been described as reliable, empathic and respectful to others. My clients express appreciation for my genuine care and dedication to explore and provide support in their journeys at their own pace. I am dedicated to serving others as a creative guide and participant as they achieve their growth and goals.
My approach derives from a variety of theoretical frameworks aligned with my
creative lens and experiences. Since my clients vary on their needs, backgrounds, and preferences, I work in an eclectic manner embracing Family Therapy, Person-Centered and Relational Therapies as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Ideal clients include individuals and families wanting to achieve balance in their life, while being willing to work and use the available tools to illuminate their path and process.
I grew up in Colombia and have lived in Miami, Orlando, and Los Angeles now gladly permanently in Chicago. My Master Degree in Art Therapy is from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago and I completed my undergraduate at the University of Central Florida. My experience extends from clients between the ages of 2-104 years old. A variety of settings I have worked in include a residential facility for children wards of the state, Long Term Care Facilities for Elder adults, School for children with developmental disabilities, providing individual/family therapy in office and at schools as well as bilingual phone consultations/crisis management in the US and other Countries related to Dementia.
I enjoy spending time in nature, making and appreciating art, traveling, spending time with family and friends. My hope is to travel to as many
places as I can live to see.
