A Bit About Me

My name is Kamiele Boston. I am a Clinician/Social Worker and Program Manager for the Ashe’ Fellowship Program. My practice history has spanned over the last ten years focused on medical and corporate social work, alongside private practice. Friends and family would describe me as kind, open-minded, genuine, motivating, and considerate. Colleagues would describe me as being “about the business” and very no nonsense in my approach to getting things done. Clients value me as being intuitive, an active listener, supportive and impartial. I find purpose in being a passenger in helping others to attain healthier, more fulfilling lives. My personal mission is to develop and enhance the independence of individuals and couples who need support. My work with clients is geared towards creating healthy thoughts, feelings and attitudes, and growing one’s self-awareness which then translates to better relationships with others. My therapy style includes a mix of cognitive behavioral therapy, brief intervention therapy, solution focused therapy, insight-focused therapy, person-centered therapy approaches, and culturally sensitive therapy approaches. I specialize in: Coping Skills, Relationship Stress/Issues (Gottman trained), Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Stress, and Life Transitions. My specializations also include a sex positive approach and attitude, fully supporting individuals and couples coping with alternative and non-traditional sexual lifestyles, polyamorous relationships, open relationships, sexual dysfunctions, and sexual traumas. I also maintain a certification in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. My role is to aid individuals through life’s ups and downs and to help clients utilize the tools within to navigate smoothly on their individual journey to wholeness.

Why did you decide to become a social worker?

I chose to become a social worker because I wanted a more human experience with people. My entire career post-graduation has been in the medical field. And while the medical model is definitely a component, mental health and helping people achieve personal and interpersonal goals is where I found my calling to be a helper.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I am most excited to work with clients who are motivated to wnat more in life. Clients who see barriers as temporary and are eager to do the work, both in session and outside, to achieve the overall benefits. No demographic is off limits to me!

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

Therapy is not a quick-fix and requires a commitment to show up, lean into vulnerability, and be willing to practice what you learn in between sessions. I will do my part to provide a safe, nonjudgemental, and collaborative space to identify your needs and support your growth. During our time together, there will be laughter, there will probably be tears, but through it all, you won’t be alone. Thank you for trusting me on your journey.

Why did you choose to practice at Ashe Counseling & Coaching LLC

I chose to practice at Ashe' because of the ability to grow and prosper. In my experience here, I have felt supported in my work and also able to put my ideas into practice.
