Therapy that leaves room for creativity, imagination, and healing.
Art therapy at Ashé Counseling & Coaching offers a creative and reflective approach to mental health care. Through drawing, painting, collage, visual storytelling, and guided creative expression, clients can explore emotions, reduce stress, process life experiences, and reconnect with themselves in a different way.
Sessions are available in person only at our Logan Square office with resident art therapist Alexa.
What is art therapy?
Art therapy combines psychotherapy with creative expression. You do not need artistic experience. The focus is not on making perfect art. The focus is on creating a space where thoughts, emotions, memories, and experiences can be explored in a more visual and embodied way.
Expression beyond words
Some emotions are difficult to explain verbally. Art therapy creates another pathway for processing anxiety, grief, trauma, stress, identity exploration, and life transitions.
Nervous system support
Creative work can support grounding, mindfulness, regulation, and emotional awareness while helping clients reconnect with themselves at a slower pace.
Creative reflection
Through color, texture, imagery, and visual storytelling, clients can build insight, increase self compassion, and better understand patterns in their lives.
Resident Art Therapist
Alexa brings creativity, warmth, and thoughtful clinical care into the therapy room. Her approach helps clients explore emotions, identity, stress, and healing through both conversation and creative expression.
Sessions may include drawing, painting, collage, visual journaling, or other expressive techniques depending on the client's goals and comfort level.
