A Bit About Me

I'm a social worker and therapist at Ashe Counseling & Coaching LLC, known for my thoughtful, passionate, and genuine approach. My therapeutic style incorporates evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic techniques, and client-centered therapy. While clinical expertise is crucial, the heart of my practice is the strong therapeutic bond with my clients, built on trust, respect, and understanding. I believe in the art of relationship building and prioritize transparent, humble, and authentic interactions. I focus on being client-centered, acknowledging you as the expert on your own life.

A Howard University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in psychology, I earned my Master's of Social Work with honors from California State University, Northridge. My diverse work experience spans Los Angeles, Maryland, and Chicago, involving support for older adults with dementia, adults with mental illness, emancipated foster youth, and at-risk youth in the juvenile justice system. I've worked with the second largest foster care system in the country in Los Angeles County, addressing abuse and neglect allegations.

A native of New York City, raised in the D.C. suburbs, I've lived in Los Angeles and currently reside in Chicago with my family. After a four-year break as a stay-at-home mother, I view this experience as an asset that has grounded and challenged me. Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring local museums, and discovering new destinations.

Why did you decide to become a social worker?

I've always had a passion for understanding and supporting others. Being a social worker and therapist gives me the privilege to do both. This profession allows me to reach out to people in a very vulnerable place and offer hope, care, and encouragement.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

Clients who are skeptical of therapy and/or who have never experienced therapy excite me as it gives me the opportunity to change their mind and their life. I also enjoy working with those who have experienced abuse and trauma as it allows me to extend validation, caring and healing to people who may need it the most.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

What you feed your mind is as important as what you feed your body.

Why did you choose to practice at Ashe Counseling & Coaching LLC

I discovered Ashe organically while chatting with a therapist in the park, and, surprisingly, our connection led to an encouraging invitation to apply. After exploring the website, I felt a strong alignment with the organization's values and knew I wanted to be part of it. The rest is history.
