A Bit About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist at Ashe Counseling and Coaching. I am often described as genuine and friendly. My clients experience me as calm, open-minded and honest. I love learning about people, the journey they have been on thus far and working collaboratively to problem solve and facilitate growth. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space for clients to feel comfortable in. My approach to therapy is holistic, drawing upon a multitude of evidence-based therapies including psychodynamic therapy, trauma informed therapy, CBT, and a strengths-based approach. My areas of specialty include grief & bereavement, anxiety, life transitions, aging parents, terminal/chronic illnesses and adjustment issues. I am an East-coaster at heart, born and raised in Buffalo, NY. I went to Ithaca College for my undergraduate degree, majoring in gerontology and creating writing. I worked as an au-pair in Spain for 1 year after graduation where I nannied for two young children. I then earned my Masters in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis where I held a research fellowship conducting qualitative research. My background is primarily in healthcare. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family and friends. Some of the joys in my life include running, pilates, immersing myself in nature, traveling, and cooking.

Why did you decide to become a social worker?

I chose to become a social worker because I believe in the power of processing in a nonjudgemental space. Compassion for other human beings is our greatest power and gift.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I love working with young adults and adults. I am most excited to work with clients who feel excited to begin the therapeutic process, and who are ready for change.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

Growth is a journey, it ebbs and flows, it is not linear. No problem is too big or too small to process!

Why did you choose to practice at Ashe Counseling & Coaching LLC

I chose Ashe Counseling & Coaching because of the incredible leadership team and the talented therapists that I get to work alongside of. I respect this practice so much and feel extremely lucky to work here.

My top 3 feel good songs

The resiliency in others has always been the biggest source of inspiration to me.
