I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist at Ashe Counseling and Coaching. I am often described as genuine and friendly. My clients experience me as calm, open-minded and honest. I love learning about people, the journey they have been on thus far and working collaboratively to problem solve and facilitate growth.
My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space for clients to feel comfortable in. My approach to therapy is holistic, drawing upon a multitude of evidence-based therapies including psychodynamic therapy, trauma informed therapy, CBT, mindfulness technique’s and a strengths-based approach. My areas of specialty include grief & bereavement, anxiety, life transitions, aging parents, terminal/chronic illnesses and adjustment issues.
I am an East-coaster at heart, born and raised in Buffalo, NY. I went to Ithaca College for my undergraduate degree, majoring in gerontology and creating writing. I worked as an au-pair in Spain for 1 year after graduation where I nannied for two young children. I then earned my Masters in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis where I held a research fellowship. My background is primarily in healthcare and aging. I have experience working with Veterans as well. In addition to my position at Ashe, I work full-time at AMITA Rainbow Hospice & Palliative Care as a hospice social worker, working with patients and families through one of life's most intimate and complex journeys.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Some of the joys in my life include running, yoga, surrounding myself in nature, traveling, reading, playing soccer, and cooking.
