I am a Master’s level, a clinical social worker. My clients would describe me as warm, kind, and authentic. I maintain a balance between a professional and personal relationship with my clients. I allow my clients to take power as they are the experts in their lives. Many times, my clients have found it beneficial to view me as they’re speaking to a loved one who can provide tools to
manage their symptoms. They uncovered that being able to talk with me—openly and freely without judgment—was both empowering and a great source of liberation. Over time, it was clear that my ability to create a comfortable environment is what my clients need.
My clients come from all walks of life who are seeking to live a well- balanced life. I aim to provide a safe space where they can develop coping and emotion regulation skills. I recognize therapy varies from person to person, hence I utilize a person-centered modality through a culturally competent lens. My primary theoretical orientations are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Acceptance/Commitment
Therapy. I believe these modalities can help the client identify their triggers, manage symptoms, and learn ongoing coping skills that empower them to make lasting changes.
I was born in India and moved to the states in my early childhood. I have spent most of life in Des Plaines, just north of Chicago. I’ve had a lifelong passion to learn about people’s journey which inspired a career in mental health. This led me to pursue a Bachelor’s in Sociology from DePaul University and a Master’s in clinical social work from Loyola University Chicago. During my academic career, I worked with domestic violence survivors, severe mental health
diagnoses, and child abuse/trauma. I have experience working with adolescent and adult populations focusing on life transitions, relationships, grief/loss, and trauma. My other areas of interest also include personality disorders.
On a personal note, I am a hot sauce connoisseur who enjoys kickboxing, art, traveling, and trying new foods. My love for spicy hot sauces has inspired me to research, create my own recipes, and learn about all things spice!
