A Bit About Me
I am a master's level clinical mental health counseling student at Northwestern University. I currently employ an integrative theoretical approach, with psychodynamic theory as the basis of my approach. I am also drawn to narrative therapy and the power of stories in helping clients find their voices and redirect their paths toward wellness. I am a member of the American Counseling Association and the Illinois Counseling Association, through which I have completed continuing education credits on play therapy and how to provide trauma-informed treatment. Upon graduation, I plan to gain meaningful experience working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma and help them build coping skills and resiliency.
Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I feel drawn to counseling because the emotional well-being of people matters greatly to me, and I empathize with those suffering from unspoken pain. My goal as a counselor is to closely support and guide my clients as they process emotions and make personal discoveries.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
Your feelings can tell you so much and, by tuning into them, you can learn to grow comfortable with even the difficult ones and realize you're stronger than you think
Why did you choose to practice at Ashe Counseling & Coaching LLC
I chose to intern at Ashé Counseling & Coaching LLC because their culturally responsive approach is integral to fostering an equitable mental health care system, in which individuals with diverse social experiences are understood and supported. At Ashé, I can put my cultural attunement to practice, as I actively develop competency in various clinical therapy skills and and learn to adapt my interventions to best serve each individual client.
My top 3 feel good songs
I am inspired by those who relentlessly advocate to make the world an increasingly equitable and inclusive space where self-expression and creativity can thrive.
