I am a Licensed Social worker and a therapist here at Ashe Counseling and Coaching. I am compassionate and down to earth. My clients describe me as understanding, non-judgemental, and supportive. I strongly emphasize the importance of developing trust and an empathic relationship in order to create a safe and successful therapeutic space.
I use a client-centered perspective, which focuses on the development of skills and knowledge that allows empowerment through clients’ own personal potential. I view clients holistically and utilize techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness Skills Training. Although I work with clients of all ages I am especially passionate about working with young adults, those struggling with life transitions, and families of veterans.
I grew up in a suburb of Chicago. I received my Undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University in Social Work where I completed an internship at a nonprofit that trained PTSD service dogs and provided a 3-week trauma resiliency program to veterans. I received my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago where I completed an extensive internship at UI Health both inpatient and outpatient level.
I love to hop out of my comfort zone and travel. My favorite place I have been is Cape Town, South Africa. I enjoy yoga, animals, and sunshine.
