Clinical Director of Interns

A Bit About Me

Hi, my name is Kay and I am a Clinical Director at Ashé Counseling and Coaching. I specialize in Women and Families, specifically individuals healing from Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Narcissistic Abuse and Domestic Violence. I have over 15 years of therapy experience and 20 years of healthcare experience. I work with clients from adolescence into adulthood throughout many life cycles. My secondary interests include eating disorders in adolescents and young adults, and women's mental health related to menopause, parenting, significant others, work stress, etc. I have worked at major hospitals, primary care clinics, nonprofit organizations and assisted living/nursing homes. I use both physical and mental health to understand the individual completely, with the ability to articulate the connections between mind/body and how our physical health contributes to our mood and vice versa.

I work with you to come to terms with life's challenges. With proven therapy methods, I will help you identify and resolve your problems. My style is direct and compassionate; I focus on providing feedback and tools to help you reach your identified goals. I am conversational in Spanish. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I love being outdoors, riding my bike and going to the beach on the weekends. I also enjoy the arts and I love musicals.

Why did you decide to become a counselor?

I believe social work chose me. I have always taken on the role of confident, advisor, caretaker and empath in my family and friendships.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I love working with clients starting their life over after going through something very challenging.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

I wish clients knew that it is important to put on their face mask first before helping others.

Why did you choose to practice at Ashe Counseling & Coaching LLC

I value the work that Ashe does in the community and I look up to the owner, Mandisa.

My top 3 feel good songs

I am inspired by the kindness and generosity I see from people and the inherent want to help others and create community
