I am a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Illinois and therapist at Ashe’ Counseling and Coaching.  My personality on any given day is fluid, insightful, energetic and adaptable. My clients would describe me as “real”, engaged, responsible, and resourceful.  I pride myself on being hopeful for their success and breakthroughs. My role is to support clients through life’s ups and downs and to help them utilize the tools within to navigate smoothly on their individual journey to Wholeness.

My personal mission is to develop and enhance the independence of individuals and couples who need support.  My work with clients is geared towards creating healthy thoughts, feelings and attitudes, and growing one’s self-awareness which then translates to better relationships with others.  Therapy is far from a one-size-fits-all ideal and I work with clients to develop a treatment plan which is best suited for their full lives and abundant schedules. 

 

My therapy style includes a mix of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, insight-focused therapy, and culturally sensitive therapy approaches.  I specialize in: Coping Skills, Relationship Stress/Issues, Anxiety, Depression, Stress, and Life Transitions. My specializations also include a sex positive approach and attitude, fully supporting individuals and couples coping with alternative and non-traditional sexual lifestyles, polyamorous relationships, open relationships, sexual dysfunctions, and sexual traumas.

I am a Chicago native,my formative years were spent on the SouthSide!  My undergraduate education was completed at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL.  I completed my master’s degree at Aurora University in Aurora, IL. As a social worker and clinician, my professional work has included the hospital and nursing home setting, hospice support, and independent clinical work.  I currently work in the medical field providing community- based care for underserved population.

I am a foodie!!  I enjoy traveling, reading, and listening to music.  I am passionate about collecting and cultivating memories and not “things”.
