I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist at Ashe Counseling and Coaching. I am often described as friendly and outgoing. My clients think of me as caring, honest, and understanding. I love getting to know people, understanding human behavior, and working with others to problem solve.
My goal as a therapist is to collaborate with clients to understand their thought processes, address barriers to wellness, and identify ways in which they can achieve their goals. My approach to therapy includes utilizing cognitive behavioral, solution focused, behavioral activation, and acceptance and commitment techniques. My areas of specialty include depression, anxiety, grief, relationships, and adjustment issues.
I believe that clients are the experts of their own lives; however, sometimes we need an outside perspective to help reframe our thinking. I’m here to work with you to increase self-awareness and empower you to approach life in a way that enhances health and well-being.
I was born and raised in a small town not far from New York City. I earned my Master of Social Work from Indiana University and my Bachelors in Psychology from Northeastern University in Boston. I am a native East Coaster, but am happy to call Chicago home. My background is in healthcare and research. In addition to my position at Ashe, I am also the Lead Social Worker at Oak Street Health, a value based primary care practice that serves individuals with Medicare. I have supported clients with diverse life experiences and provide those I meet with unconditional acceptance.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love running, shopping, and summer days on the beach.
