Fernanda Ochoa Gonzalez, LPC

I am a bilingual (Spanish-English) Licensed Professional Counselor at Ashe Counseling and Coaching. I am Certified by the National Board of Counseling. I am often described as a great listener, empathetic, and genuine. I have a passion with listening to my clients,  getting to know their story and envisioning myself in their shoes to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for them to open up and feel understood.

My goal as a therapist is to make my clients feel heard and provide a safe space and to help my clients navigate through the ups and downs in their journey. While working together as a team, I want to empower my clients and challenge them to become their best selves and obtain their goals. I always individualize my approaches to each client’s needs. I have primarily worked with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). These modalities do an exceptional job with providing tools that are extremely helpful while dealing with obstacles.

I was born in Mexico and moved to the United States when I was young. I attended Coastal Carolina University for my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and The Chicago School of Professional Psychology for my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have worked in an outpatient hospital in the adolescent mental health unit and often saw clients that struggled with suicidal ideation, self-harm, behavioral problems, self-esteem, depression, and anxiety.

When I am not working with clients I enjoy spending time with friends, watching TikTok, traveling, and of course binge-watching TV shows!
