Christina Hicks,  (She/Her/Hers)

As a Licensed Social Worker and therapist at Ashe Counseling and Coaching, I am passionate, intensive, and easy to talk to. My aim is to create a safe and interactive environment where clients can tackle difficult subjects, address deep-seated trauma, or simply say things they never thought they would say out loud. My ultimate goal is to help clients discover their strengths, build a support system, and develop a healthy lifestyle that sets the foundation for lifelong success.

My experience includes working with youth, women, and families in various settings, including child welfare, residential treatment, sexual abuse, domestic violence shelters, and community mental health. Recognizing that every client's journey is unique and not every therapeutic modality works for everyone, I incorporate a range of therapeutic modalities, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and many more.

Originally from a small town called Bassfield in Mississippi, I attended William Carey University after graduating high school and obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and a minor in Gerontology in 2015. In February 2021, I earned a Master's of Social Work from Walden University in Minneapolis, MN. I have also completed the General EMDR Practitioner Training with EMDR Consulting in June 2021.

When not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 7-year-old son, playing softball, shopping at Target (probably more than I should), and watching my son play baseball.
