A Bit About Me
My name is Ashley, I am a current Northwestern University Counseling Graduate Student. I am Latina and have worked with BIPOC communities for 10 years in the Chicago Northside. I have experience working with children and adolescents, particularly in childcare and enrichment settings. I grew up in Chicago's Albany Park and attended Grinnell College for undergrad. I graduated with a bachelors in English and Psychology and have used that in my community work in advocating for mental health and community resources. I am excited to continue to work with different people and bring more counseling services to high need communities.
Why did you decide to become a counselor?
I have worked with immigrant children and families for many years and saw a need for culturally informed mental health professionals that can help these families feel comfortable and represented.
What type of clients are you most excited to work with?
I am so excited to work with people from various backgrounds and children and adolescents.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
I want clients to know I have their best interests in mind when they step into the room and want to know how I can best be a support to them.
Why did you choose to practice at Ashe Counseling & Coaching LLC
I really appreciate Ashe's commitment to culturally competent and diverse care and their mission to help clients from various backgrounds.
My top 3 feel good songs
I am inspired by the kindness and generosity I see from people and the inherent want to help others and create community
