Antionette N. Davis, LCPC

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Therapist at Ashe Counseling and Coaching. I am a therapist who works with adults and who are looking to make sense out of the mentally draining clutter and confusion building up in their thoughts and mind. My goal is to help you find balance in your thought-life through an increase of self-awareness and practical steps towards the life you want to see.

I believe therapy works best when there can be a collaboration between the therapist and client to create an environment where you can be honest about your needs and desires, heal from your experiences, and explore your feelings without; guilt, pressure to perform, or fear of rejection. You may have a gut feeling that there’s something more, something better, for you on the other side of therapy and I encourage you to embrace that feeling. Together we will team up and create new norms, set value-based goals, and introduce new healthy habits that promote personal growth.

My ideal client has acknowledged the gut feeling that there’s something more, something better, for them on the other side of therapy and are ready to explore the possibilities. They struggle with self-doubt, imposter syndrome, anxious thoughts and trying to “get it right”. These clients are not perfect but are prepared to do the work in a safe, supportive space.

I am from the South Side of Chicago and grew up in the Chatham community. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Thee Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana and Master of Arts from Lewis University in Romeoville, IL. I have worked majorly with African-Americans from early childhood to college, providing group and individual counseling to over 150 Chicago Public School students on the city’s Southside. More recently I have worked with young adult and adult clients across the city managing overwhelming thoughts and life transitions.

I am a mother of 3 and 4 year old girls who are hilarious and take all of my attention, but when they’re sleep (WIN!) I enjoy quality time with my husband, $5 Tuesdays at the Movies solo with a tub of buttery popcorn, online shopping for things I don’t need, roof-top fun with my friends, body buttas and sugar scrubs.
